Fondazione Fitzcarraldo is an independent centre for research, planning, training and documentation on cultural, arts and media management, economics and policies, at the service of those who create, practice, take part in, produce, promote and support the arts and culture. The Foundation aims to contribute to the development, diffusion and promotion of innovation and experimentation in the aforesaid fields of activity, also through the systematic search for collaboration agreements. Since 1995 Fitzcarraldo evaluates cultural policies and programmes through constant monitoring as well as through the evaluation of projects and funding policies.
Has developed a varied experience on audience analysis and development for museums and festivals both through research studies as well as through training initiatives. Beyond a variety of audience surveys recently carried out for some of the most important cultural institutions in Italy and internationally (Ministry of Culture, Bassano Opera festival, Galleria Ferrari, Musei Capitolini, Cà Rezzonico, Musée du Louvre… ). It’s the project leader of ADESTE a European project co-financed by the EC which identifies the best knowledge and the best actions to increase the audience engagement in cultural initiatives and is partner of Be SpectACTive! European project involving some of the most innovative European organizations working on active spectatorship in contemporary performing arts.
Fondazione Fitzcarraldo is also Leader of the ‘Study on Audience Development - How to place audiences at the centre of cultural organisations’, funded by the European Commission, whose aim is to provide successful approaches and methods in the area of audience development to be disseminated among European cultural organisations.
